This week meet Freedom Archives. What they are doing is of extreme importance.
They are preserving history, especially the history of social movements and the history of oppressed people who often do not get their voices heard. The erasure of history is a form of violence and an effective form of repression. Archival material is often hard to access when it's entrenched in elite institutions that require money or a degree to access it.
Freedom Archives wants you to explore the extensive audio, video and print collections of social movements and to share stories that will greatly expand the understanding of racial equity, cultural resistance and the history of struggle. Link in bio.
