I made this photo for a @natgeo story about the origins of art. Over 30,000 years old, the handprint was made by aerosolizing red ocher pigment around an outstretched hand on the cave wall. It's shockingly difficult to do—and amazing to realize I was literally standing in the footsteps of an ancestor who made their mark over 30 millennia ago.
