I am not immune to fear. I feel it constantly when out in nature alone. Even after all these years, walking through an unfamiliar landscape, like the desert at midnight, seems to conjure up a lot of irrational feelings that I probably shouldn’t feed into. Your mind drifts to places in the darkness of night that it never would during the day. Irrationality aside there is always something to be learned in these experiences... something to be felt. As if just the presence of the sun or ‘light’ can make us in some way feel safe. Truth is that even in darkness there is light. Take what you will from that little rant...
