Meet @NancyTwine, Founder and CEO @Briogeo!]  After my decision to embark on a journey to develop my own line of clean, plant-based hair care, I spent my after-work nights and weekends drafting a business plan, conceptualizing packaging designs, and most importantly, figuring out what products I was going to launch first.  I buried myself in ingredient research and chemistry so that I could truly have my hand in every formulation. It was of utmost importance to me that each formula was custom-built and as highly naturally-derived and clean as possible, without sacrificing one bit of efficacy. After several rounds of formulations and feedback, the first four @Briogeo formulas were born.  Later that summer – and armed with dozens of samples and brochures-I headed to the beauty trade show, Cosmoprof. It was the first trade show I’d ever been to and I remember how overwhelmed I was by all of the conversations that took place over those 72 hours. By the end of it, I’d met dozens of buyers from retailers, that at the time, I could only dream of launching Briogeo in. One of my most exciting meetings occurred during the final hours of the show - with the buyers of Sephora.  In February 2014, I received an e-mail from Sephora that changed my life. They’d been testing the products I sent them for months and were now focused on building out their hair care category with more clean brands that catered to a diverse spectrum of hair types. Briogeo completely fit the bill. It was the moment I’d been waiting for and I wanted to do it right, so I decided to take a leap of faith and resign from my full-time finance career so that I could give my dream opportunity a true chance.  That moment was over 6 years ago. Today, Briogeo is retailed in over a thousand prestige beauty stores, globally. We’ve also been named one of the fastest-growing hair care brands at Sephora and are one of the largest Black-owned brands at most of our retailers.
