For instance. These traits that make me, me, just didn’t fit the “norm” within the traditional space in climbing. And instead of having the confidence to simply say “because I want to,” I would consider if I should suppress my “bubliness” or “femininity” in the sense of the word that I related to it, to “fit in.” Femininity to me resembles Who You Are. It can be expressed through the clothing you choose, or the personal decisions you make; it’s not a one size-fits-all term, it’s just supposed to resemble the LIBERTY to be You. Feminine is powerful. It is strength and it is Choice. As I have matured within my own space and continued down my own journey of self-acceptance, I have found it has heightened my awareness for acceptance of others for who they are as well. When I feel Confident in myself, I am happy for others. I am not comparing their success with my own; there is enough space for everyone and we can all celebrate. This model of Abundance is much more powerful and healthy for our community’s growth than the fear of Scarcity.
