Concerts, festivals, sporting events, restaurants, religious gatherings, movie theaters, schools, parks, bars, clubs or any other public gatherings can’t happen again until EVERYONE can feel like they won’t potentially be spreading or contracting a virus that could kill their family members, neighbors, fellow concert goer or themselves. It’s as simple as that. I’ve lost several friends and many people within the Soulrocker community have told me they’ve lost family members to the disease. Whether it’s hit you directly or not this shit ain’t just gonna “go away”, eventually it will come knocking on your door. We can either bury our heads in the sands of ignorance and hope that next fall, spring, winter, year, or the year after that it will magically poof away. Or choose to listen to people who’ve dedicated their entire lives studying this kinda shit who continually tell us with empirical data that it won’t, unless we take active measures to fight it. Believe me, I’m in the camp who wishes (in vain) that it’s magically gonna disappear off the face of the f*cking planet! But my father was an epidemiologist, he studied this kinda shit for decades with a slide rule, a number 2 pencil and a Texas Instruments calculator and he always said “Numbers don’t lie”. Would you prefer to drive on a bridge, or fly in a plane designed by a politician or by an engineer? Science matters, so it’s time we all wake the f*ck up. Why? Because this won’t be the last pandemic. New viruses come every year and who’s to know that the next one won’t be even more lethal than COVID-19? Do you really want to wait and find out? Personally I kinda want to be able to shake hands with strangers again, have lunch in a room full of people again, go to a Niners game again, drop my kid off at school and know the teacher ain’t gonna die halfway through the semester, and YES I wanna see my favorite bands play concerts and festivals again. And I would be mortified if I ever found out someone died from having a good time at one of my shows 🙏🏽. Other countries have succeeded. We can too!」7月20日 13時48分
