Although @tracidesjardins became known for her Bay Area spins on classic French food, her decision to move away from fine dining with the closure of her flagship restaurant Jardinière last year was partly motivated by her passion for Mexican cooking—specifically the sort of cooking done by her mother’s family, who are from Sonora, in northwestern Mexico. Her gorgeous charred sweet corn reflects her roots: it’s slathered in tangy lime mayonnaise and topped with extra-large crunchy quicos, her version of elote.
