Independence Day wasn’t a day of freedom for the Black and Brown Americans, and never has been. As someone that has previously celebrated this holiday for many years (mostly bc my birthday is tomorrow & it was like a pre party for me), I will no longer be taking part in today as a holiday. Please consider doing the same in solidarity for those that still are not free.
