We’re emerging out of it now and we will once again have the opportunity to put on our glad rags in the public sphere... but to have spent months taking pleasure in dressing for oneself in isolation, also had its particular joys - “We dress up because it’s our way of holding onto those pre-lockdown times of going out in something shiny/slinky/flowy/voluminous and special, whatever that may be in your own wardrobe to see someone/anyone special and hug and kiss them, eat something nice, watch something good or just venture outside because the open air is so inviting. - The most voluminous, shiniest, colourful and loudest things in my wardrobe have helped me to combat the lows of lockdown but everyone will have their own specific sartorial saviours.  Teaching ourselves that what we wear can be a form of self pleasure/help will perhaps make us reassess our relationship with our clothes post lockdown.  We will once again buy new things.  We will still dress to impress others.  The conventions of dress codes will resume. - But we will have seen the invisible forcefield around our clothes that only the wearer will recognise.
