ヴァレンティン・トーマスさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ヴァレンティン・トーマスInstagram)「When I started Spearfishing and caring about what I was eating (proximity generates care), I’ve realized that there was not a lot of information available to consumers when it came to seafood consumption. Not a lot on information and not a lot of good products on the market either. To be able to have even a tiny little impact on consumers became my goal. I read lots of scientific reports, I consult seafood guides (and background check them), I inform myself not only on the ecological side of thing, but also the social side by talking to fishermen and try to understand their perspective (it’s important to save the ocean, but it’s also important to feed people). To be honest, it hasn’t been an easy mission for a few reasons - a lot of grey areas, a lot of corruption, a lot of personal angles and most importantly, a lot of denial and taboo surrounding what and how food goes into our plates. The silver lining is that a bunch of amazing companies are emerging to try to change things - and it’s important that we encourage them. I’ll keep researching, I’ll keep asking annoying questions and I’ll keep digging to be able to share as much knowledge as I can to provide real information (if one day I disappear, it’s because I dig too deep 😂). Please do not hesitate to ask me anything if you have questions on this topic and if you have time, please watch the documentary in my bio, there’s a small fee but it’s worth it as it explores different angles of commercial fisheries. Have a great day 🙏 📷 @anthonyjrayburn」7月3日 7時31分 - valentinethomas
