A new project in Newark, NJ, is uniquely suited to helping the community grow. ⠀ ⠀ The Rider Farm Greenhouse project will transform a one-acre schoolyard at West Side High School with a hydroponic greenhouse, outdoor kitchen, seating areas, new paving, walkways and landscaping. In this revitalized outdoor space, the community will have access to a beautiful new park, and students will have the opportunity to learn about agriculture, business and health – the city’s first-ever urban agriculture curriculum. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ This year’s three award winners bring us closer to the goal of providing access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk of every person in America.
