Photo by @stephen_matera | A winter sunset on Lake Tahoe. The lake straddles the border of California and Nevada, and its surface elevation is over 6,000 feet (1,829 meters) above sea level. The lake was carved to a depth of over 1,600 feet (488 meters) during the last ice age. It is an outdoor recreation attraction year-round.
