Potassium: which helps with the plants strength and root systems. Historically speaking, fertilizers have made large strides but can still be problematic if they aren’t absorbed by plants and instead enter water systems. Algae blooms are one example of when excess phosphorus makes its way into water systems. Many farmers are taking to winter crop coverage over the years, non harvested crops that get tilled and help add nutrients into the ground.
