Fannie Lou Hamer was beaten with a blackjack and sexually assaulted. She was a victim of false sterilization... James Chaney was tortured, castrated and shot. As was MLK, Schwerner, Goodman, Liuzzo, Jackson...Voting posts may not be the most “popular” or “sexiest” online but....if you want to know why we have a 401+ year system of racism look no further than our political structure. The Laws that have been created have held us down and BACK.....Jim Crow, The Black Codes, The Virginia Code 1705, The Casual Killing Act, The 3/5ths Compromise....etc....Elected Mayors of every city who hire the District Attorneys, Judges, Sheriffs that decide to put US away!! The extraordinary beauty of what is going on in streets around the world is we are beginning to WAKE UP!!! But....now what? Must I post the disfigured body of Emmet Till? Or show the pictures of the bodies of Chaney, Schwerner and Goodman’s being dug from their graves? Or play George Floyd’s horrific, heartbreaking death on a loop? Must I show pictures of poverty stricken communities, substandard schools, prisons? We want change? Than it’s either the bullet or the ballot.
