This administrations decision to roll back protections against discrimination for health services..in the middle of this pandemic, in the middle of an uprising, in the middle of an awakening, on the anniversary of the Pulse night club massacre (rest in peace to all souls) in the wake of yet again, the senseless murders and torture of two more women that were truly just minding their business and trying to survive in a system that allows their death in silence. It is far beyond nauseating because it is so obviously strategic and intentional. I’m honestly just at a serious loss for words at this point. Rest in power Rem’mie Fells and Riah Milton. We honor your spirits and I wish you love and protection on your journey to a better place than this living hell. I don’t really care what your personal opinion or stance is on transgender existence. You don’t get to decide someone’s reality, especially when you have done less than bare minimum to understand their struggles or immerse yourself in their stories. Whether you invalidate them with your supposed code of ethics, your skewed understanding of feminism, or if it infringes upon your religious right to intolerance, trans women are just women, and more over are human beings. They deserve protection, life, accessibility, they deserve to be seen, loved, heard, and listened to. They deserve to feel safe. I know things are feeling overwhelming right now but I find solace in knowing we are the generation that will end this evil killing machine of white supremacy once and for all. So we can all be safe and not have to continue to hashtag names of souls that deserve to be alive right now.
