After being closed due to COVID-19, Grand Teton National Park and adjacent Yellowstone National Park are now open. At 11,938 feet (3,639 meters), Buck Mountain is the tallest peak in the Teton Range south of Garnet Canyon. The mountain is named after George A. Buck, who made the first ascent with T.M. Bannon on August 21, 1898.
