Some of you may know that Kristina was the creator of the Food & Drink column at Design*Sponge, which she ran for almost 15 years. Under her leadership the column went from a casual recipe post to a beautiful and meaningful weekly column that celebrated an incredible range of chefs, home cooks and stories from around the world. All of that was because of Kristina. She made people feel safe and heard and welcome. She’s also an IACP award-winning photographer and the co-author (and photographer) of Tasting Rome. She has produced images for National Geographic Traveler, Need Supply's Human Being Journal, VSCO, Atlas Quarterly, Australia Gourmet Traveller, Bon Appetit, kinfolk, Airbnb, Lomography, and belle Australia. Kristina supports the United Nations' World Food Programme in its fight against world hunger and knows more about the world of food than anyone else I know. She is funny and kind. She is a fiercely loyal friend. She is one of the hardest workers I know. She loves dogs and all sorts of wild animals that she shares with us from her home in Rome. She is also the queen of finding an internet hotspot anywhere we go. Her work and her voice are an invaluable part of the home and food community and I hope you’ll join me in reading her story, sharing it, speaking up in support and continuing to support her work online and off.
