Do you know what happened to Breonna Taylor?
On March 13, 2020, Breonna Taylor was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department Officers. The officers were searching for two people who were already in custody. Neither person lived there. Three officers- Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly, Detective Brett Hankinson, and Detective Myles Cosgrove- forced entry without knocking or announcing that they were officers. They used a battering ram to knock down her door and then fired more than 22 times. Breonna was hit with 8 of those bullets. Brianna was killed. None of the officers have been fired, arrested, or charged. They were able to enter her apartment with a No-Knock Warrant.
