I used to think that such a situation was normal but the older and wiser I have become, I’ve come to realise there was a problem with prejudice and racism because of how I looked and spoke. There have been loads of prominent people in my life that have guided me in the right way without prejudice but we can’t put our heads in the sand and pretend that racism doesn’t exist. I’m calling on black and white brothers and sisters alike, to start making a change by speaking out no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Don’t think that Black Lives Matter is a disrespect to white people it’s just highlighting there’s injustice for black people in our everyday lives. The recent events we’ve all watched have cut me deep inside and it leaves a pain I can’t explain and have had trouble trying to digest. The picture to the right is one you are probably more used to seeing of me - smiling as a pundit, feeling proud as to how far I’ve come as a person but equally knowing I have more to learn. I will focus on embracing every moment and enjoying the ride and remain grateful for every opportunity that’s come my way.
