My rainbow flag includes the brown and black stripes. The black and brown stripes draw attention to issues of people of color within the LGBTQ communities.

June 1 starts the season of Pride. At this time normally your feed is filled with rainbow overload, but this year is a bit different (FYI to the gay community and influencers, and brands who didn’t get the memo)

Yesterday evening I was really emotional and happy that the peaceful protest would walk through my neighborhood and I hung my flag on my porch with Pride.

As the day went on I got a message from a friend & neighbor that read: “Hey Paul… Just FYI a neo Nazi group have targeted our neighborhood & destroying / defacing the properties of African Americans, homosexuals and trans community members. Please Stay home.” Without skipping a beat I put my call on hold and I grab the flag and took it in.
“Hey sorry about that I just had to do something.

I’m very proud to be of the community and hate scare tactics wether true or rumor.

The protest that passed my home was beautiful.
To see black and brown folks alongside white allies still marching for what is right had me in tears while I had my fist in the air.

I’ll hang the flag again, just giving it some rest.

This is rough seas we’re in but the boat has always been the same.
