May we come to truly understand what Baldwin meant by “love”. The active, inclusive, pluralism of that word. Love as a verb, a “quest”, “a state of grace”, a love that never, for a single moment, denies any human being of their inherent sense of belonging and value and intrinsic worth. To our friends of color, we see you, we love you, we are with you. As business owners we will do whatever we can to contribute to the abolition of racism and white supremacy and while your job is not to educate us, we hope you call us out on what we could be doing better. Meanwhile we will be educating ourselves on what it really means to be actively anti-racist.
