Photo by @Jonathan_Irish | There aren’t many cuter things in the world than baby animals. So when I heard that @sararacamp, the camp I was staying at in northern Kenya, had rescued a baby reticulated giraffe, I asked to see him. And what a beauty he was. He stood about as tall as me (6’3”) and was very friendly and inquisitive. He had been found alone and abandoned, and without being taken in he would have likely died. Nobody knows why he was left alone, but it was probably due to a lack of water in this dry northern desert. He will be fed and taken care of until he is healthy and strong, at which point he will be reintegrated with his own kind. Until then, he’s more than happy to say hello.
