アシュリー・ワグナーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アシュリー・ワグナーInstagram)「About two years ago I found myself sitting on my couch sobbing. Getting out of bed had been a huge mountain that I had to climb that day, and I was exhausted. I didn’t know where to go in life, and I certainly didn’t know how to get there. No one prepares you for retirement. I knew everything about taking care of my body for training and competition, but nothing about taking care of my mind and soul for life. I was lost, I was mad, and I was hurt. I found myself feeling overwhelmed by the idea of what “tomorrow” looked like, and it was in that moment that I started looking for help. I reached out to a close friend, I started a #RealConvo @afspnational and actually talked about how I was feeling. I allowed myself to let someone else carry a little bit of the weight of this thing I was going through. Day by day I found myself feeling lighter and lighter. Talking about what I was going through allowed me to get to a place where I was ready to get help. I encourage you all to start a #RealConvo with someone today, and share some love in this crazy human experience. I also recommend heading over to www.afsp.org to learn more about your resources. As always, if you find yourself in immediate crisis, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or text the Crisis Text Line.
