夏木マリ姉さんからということでもう一冊。姉さんはプロデュースしたレコードを出したばかりなので音に関係するものを。自粛をしていると何が恋しいかといえば音楽を爆音で聴くこと。そしてそれを一緒に聴き、踊る知らないたくさんの人たち。となると考えるのはクラブ。綺麗な姉ちゃんたちがいて、シャンパンを飲むクラブじゃなくて音を聴き、踊る場所。１０代で足を踏み入れてから世界中で踊ったし、いろんな人と出会い、世話になってきた。クラブはいろんなことが言われますが、大人の公園だと思ってる。砂場で遊んでいるといろんな子供が集まってきて自然と友達になるような。知り合うときに、仕事がどうだとか学校がどこだなんて何もない。気が合うか、合わないかだけ。そんなクラブという形態の場所はコロナ後にどうなってしまうんだろうか？密室にたくさん人がいて、大声だして踊る。音だけでは成立しないのはたくさんあるDJのライブやストリーミングで再確認した。DJも大事だけれど、それと同じくらい場所とそこにいる人が大事なのだから。これは世界のクラブカルチャーを、過去のクラブの写真や図面まで網羅したしたもの。建築や内装を生業とする人にも楽しめるし、箱がカルチャーに与えた影響もわかる本。インバウンド客のためにクラブを増やそうとしていた渋谷区。きっとそこで今回潰れるクラブもでてくると思う。コロナが収束したとき、クラブというカルチャーが日本だけでなく世界でちゃんと残るようなやり方が見つかるといいのだけれど。

here is another book, since Mari Natsuki @夏木マリ asked me to pick a book. by the way she is awesome singer and actress who did the voice of bathhouse granny in Spirited Away and drama voice for Isle Of Dogs for us.“Night Fever Designing Club Culture 1960-Today”. is the book about club culutre and its design and everything. I learned so much from there since i started hanging out there in my early teen. its not just the place with loud dance music and fucked up people, for me its more like school or play ground for adults. You meet great people without knowing who they are and what they do. I don’t know whats gonna happen when this corona things end with clubs. Gathering people in packed space with people dance and scream, its not the ideal place to be. but yet, i hope we can find some solution to save these places around the world. When I can go out, one of the first thing ill do is that go to the club and meet people, drink all night and dance till the day break #bookcoverchallenge
