Commencing a new week with the continuation of my #100dayproject of drawing plants and flowers. I’ve been using the @franklinchristoph Model 46 Classic Black Fountain Pen with a fine nib for each entry but found myself wanting an extra fine nib to practice the more nitty gritty line work and crosshatching details. And what better excuse for a new pen anyway, especially when it’s a Model 46 Solid Ice. On a side note, I really appreciate how each nib is individually tuned and I don’t think I’ve ever had a more generous ink flowing extra fine nib. They really do work their magic over at @franklinchristoph. Also I’m sort of obsessed with their shadow nibs at the moment too. I love the way they look in the Classic Black and Solid Ice. Stealth pens. 😎

The ink I’m using is waterproof and the most fountain pen friendly that I’ve used thus far — DeAtrementis Document Black (I got mine from @justvanness). I like that I can erase my pencil lines after the ink is dried (it dries quickly too) and there is no smudging. It’s the little things. :)

My sketchbook is handmade from the amazing @pegandawl bookbinding tutorials, which I cannot rave about enough. They just released another tutorial on how to cover your handmade journals and I’m waiting on a couple more supplies to arrive to start mine. I can’t wait for this.

Lastly, on an unrelated side note, *thank you so much* for all the kind words regarding my dad and the two year anniversary of his passing. I was so very moved at the care and thoughtfulness extended towards me especially given how everyone is dealing with a lot right now. Thank you all for reminding me that there are more kindred spirits out there than one might realize. I’m grateful for you all and I’m sincerely keeping all of you in my heart and thoughts while we walk through this season together. ♥️
