We had planned a commemoration ceremony for the anniversary of his death, inviting guests and ordering food, but then had to cancel everything. It was very sad, but what else could we do? We decided to go to Tehran's Behesht-e Zahra cemetery. It's massive and usually very crowded. Iranians often visit their loved ones, especially now, in the weeks leading up to the Persian new year. But when we went it was empty. It was almost like a scary movie. My sister went out to buy flowers for my father’s grave, and we yelled at her because she wasn't wearing gloves. COVID-19 is so contagious that you have to be careful and worried all the time. I tried to think of my father, but there were so many distractions.
