Scroll past if you like 😜 Feeling pretty emotional today, just like everybody else who was hoping to show their hard work to the world next week. Amidst my feelings of disappointment I can’t help but feel immensely grateful for the close people around me. Today, on my first day of the off season, I went to the rink. There is something to be said about people who make you feel happy and good in the wake of any circumstance. I feel the need to tell the world a bit more about the team around me, because they don’t often have any spotlight (and often don’t want it). I really can’t say enough about Bruno. In our new home, he worked tirelessly to ensure we had everything we needed to thrive, but more importantly, to be happy. He shows up for us mentally and physically everyday and most importantly, allows us to take ownership of our careers. He often knows what I’m thinking before I say it, and always reminds me to smile ☺️ Alison is so completely underrated. If you know her, you totally understand why we love her so much. She drove one hour each way all season to work with us and never complained even when we whined about not seeing her enough 😜 Her presence is sometimes all I need, but her ability to give it to you straight is unreal. She makes us laugh and brings out the best in us. Brian is perhaps the biggest surprise to our new team. We thought we were complete until we started working with him casually. At this point, we spend most of our training time with Brian, and he is undoubtedly the most demanding with workload (in a good way 😜) Requesting and expecting the best, he always keeps us on our toes, but we love our lessons with him. Julie has remained a constant for us for the past 6 seasons. Though we see her less often, she remains present everyday when we skate the programs she created with her whole heart. We love her with all of ours. Big love to our training mates and to @skateoakville for supporting us and making us feel welcome.
