I have the metal straws, reusable bottles, heck, I even use ethical toilet paper—but I didn't know much about grocery waste. Roughly 40% of food in the US is thrown out every year. Think about all that wasted food and water! I found this company @imperfectfoods and they are solving for this very issue. It's a grocery delivery service that delivers imperfect produce (yup, food that isn't "cosmetically pleasing" enough for grocery stores) and surplus food directly from farmers and growers in 100% recyclable packaging (they will even pick it up after you're finished.) Think: two-legged carrots, blemished almonds, not-quite-tricolor quinoa, and avocados that look like the shape of my daughter's head after childbirth (how dare they say that's not beautiful!?) You can choose your items, either conventional or organic, and it's about 30% less expensive than what you will find at the grocery store. As if that wasn't enough, they've donated 4+ million pounds of food to their nonprofit partners. While yes, this is a #partner, I'm a huge fan of the brand and what they stand for. All hail ugly food! #imperfectfoods
