Photo Tip/BTS- My vision was to capture the scale of these dunes and draw the viewer in by using small people silhouetted in the landscape, but I was alone on this trip. I decided to run to the very far side of the dunes and use my long lens (100-400mm) to compress the dunes and use other random people as my subjects. It was challenging but extremely fun and rewarding to try and predict their movements and run up and down the dunes to create compelling compositions, all within the short window of perfect light. Check out my previous post to see the crazy wind storm I had here the day before and the behind the scenes of why I was probably the only one who wanted to go out and shoot in those conditions.
