In my teens, it was all about how to hide my insecurities particularly with my face. In my 20s, it was about starting to accept my features for what they were. In my 30s, it is about loving how I look and being confident with baring my face as it is. With a new decade starting, one of my main resolutions for this year is to focus more on my bare skin and how to enhance my skin's natural health. I think skin health should be fully integrated with our internal health as well. So, I want to use this year to focus on talking more and more about the products, treatments and oral supplements which I use for the purpose of enhancing and maintaining my natural skin's health. To start this off, I want to talk about my first microneedling treatment I had with medical facialist, @reneelapino. This was a dermaroller procedure which used small needles to prick my skin. The purpose of the treatment is to generate new collage and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Renée recommended this procedure particularly to deal with some scars which I formed during my pregnancy. I'm not going to lie, as the first treatment can't use anaesthetic cream for safety reasons, it was quite painful. I think it's like having a tattoo done on my face. However, I can't deny the results. The procedure keeps working for 4 to 6 weeks after the treatment and I definitely saw my face visibly getting better over those weeks. I particularly think it made a huge difference to some of my pregnancy linked scars around my mouth. I'm hoping to go back to get my second treatment done very soon and this time, I'm looking forward to a pain free session with the help of some anaesthetic cream.
