Rich McCorさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Rich McCorInstagram)「AD| Bowie spent the late seventies living in Berlin (with Iggy Pop as a flatmate) and released three albums here, the most famous of which was "Heroes". The title song is about two lovers, one from East & one from West Berlin. When Bowie returned to the city in in 1987 to perform the song at the Reichstag, his performance was considered to be a catalyst for the fall of the Berlin wall. In 2016, after his death, the German government confirmed this by thanking Bowie for "helping to bring down the Wall", and went on to say "you are now among Heroes". ⁣ ⁣ The second image is part what remains of @JR's "Wrinkles in the City" project from 2013. It's a project the artist has taken around the world, in which he photographs elderly locals & displays their portraits around the city. Because he works with paper much his art is ephemeral, which adds another meaning to the work. You might recognise his work because JR is the same artist who, earlier this year, covered Paris' Louvre Museum with a vast optical illusion.⁣ ⁣ The third image is a bit of a hidden gem (if you're interested in this sort of thing) out in Weißensee. Most tour guides will tell you the last remaining BT6 watchtower in Berlin is near Potsdamer Platz, but hiding in plain sight is this derelict one in the north east of Berlin.
