When I received an unexpected invitation, I had mixed emotions because, although I was grateful for the opportunity, I knew that I wouldn’t be going into it as prepared as I would’ve hoped. Nonetheless, I embraced the chance to try my best one more time! The dream of competing in the 2020 Olympics has not come true for me. Although there is a deep ache in my heart, there are so many other things in life to look forward to and to rejoice. When I look back on this journey, I realize that all that led up to this has taught me lessons and helped me grow and mature. Although I didn’t arrive at my intended destination, all that time “on the road “ covered ground that I was meant to travel, and maybe now, I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I want to congratulate my teammates, @nathaniel.coleman and @kyra_condie for securing their Olympic spots in Tokyo 2020! I am so happy and proud to have them represent our country next summer!
