Last night I was blessed beyond belief when I found myself sitting in the ocean off the west coast of Maui without a single surfer in the water for as far as I could see. At first I was low key scared cause I’ve never surf completely alone (I was literally only like 100 feet from everyone at the house) and then I was like woah... WHAT?!? The sun was setting, the moon was hangin high and the ocean was all mine.. it was unreal. . . I immediately felt a little pressure when I realized everyone could be watching just me but I took in a huge breath, gave thanks and looked around at the most beautiful island mountain scene and told momma ocean to have her way with me. I completely trusted that she knew what to do and so did I. I was just grateful to to be there. . I got about 45 minutes of waves all to myself and did some of the flow-iest free surfing I’ve ever done. She revealed to me with every wave how in life when you surf each wave with instinct and no expectations, you can enjoy the ride for exactly what it is.
