I rarely post Spearfishing videos for a few reasons. Firstly I know it offends a few people and I want to respect that. Secondly, I hate editing haha. But here’s a little video filmed and put together by my roommate @austinjamesmichael of our trip to the Florida Keys.

This is blue water hunting. Opposite to reef fishing, you don’t see the bottom. You are often on a ledge at about 150ft deep and you take dives between 30-80ft depending on what you are hunting for (and where they show up). You use a flasher (attractive device) and/or chum (fish or squid). Here I am using a throw flasher which is the purple thing I’m holding in my hands. ~
The fish is a king mackerel (we were looking for wahoos with @dibsonbottom_adventures but conditions weren’t ideal) which was of course eaten, smoked on the Treager @traegergrills
