I said to the store manager, “I want to be your ambassador” I will wear these boots and sing their praises because I have never put a finer pair on my feet. The manager replied “we have never done anything like this before but I will speak with the company”. Turns out the makers are British, it’s a multi-generational family run operation, and they have been doing this a long time; Making boots for top fashion brands and recently struck out on their own. The factory is ‘old school’ crafted by career shoe makers who learned their craft as young apprentices and apply their trade their whole lives. Everywhere I go, people ask me “where did you get those damn fine boots and who makes them?” Well the answer is ‘Alfred Sargent’ and they are having a super trunk show on November 29,30th at the Alfred Sargent flagship store, 50 rue du Bac, Paris 7th.
