It can be easy to lose our identity as time passes - to become a “mum” “wife” “manager” or whatever, we take on a role to please and serve other people and forget what it’s like to just be “us”. I remember when I started bodybuilding after having my two babies and as people applauded me for my hard work and dedication to regaining my figure, just as many people frowned, criticised and became offended that a “mother” would wear hotpants in the summer, a bikini on the beach or sports bra at the gym. But I’m not just a mother, just a woman, just a 30-something or whatever box you want to put me into - I am me! We are all individuals, we can all be whoever and whatever we choose to be and live however makes us most happy and at peace with life. I found learning to let go of the criticism of others is the most beautifully freeing experience that allows me to live a life of peace, love and wholehearted happiness.
