The majority of people have no idea that this happened, and I’m sure the majority of people have no idea who Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe is. I haven’t seen him in the news and I haven’t seen him trending but for those who understand how big this is they know that this man is a hero but just like many African heroes in the past their stories, credibility, and impact are stolen or told in a different way. Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe says his story starts in 1973. He had just gotten his Ph.D. at the Rega Institute in Belgium. He could have stayed in Europe, but he decided to return to Congo, or what was then known as Zaire, which had only recently attained independence from Belgium.

If he had stayed in Belgium, he says, he would have been doing routine lab work. But in Congo, he would be responsible for the "health of my people." Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe this story moved me and motivated me to do more, you’re a hero and we all should know your name and story. 🙏🏿❤️.
