When you’re in a state of appreciation, there’s no room for worry, because they cannot coexist. Whenever I notice myself worrying about something out of my control, I immediately start listing reasons to feel appreciative. These appreciations can be related to the issue I’m worrying about or not – it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I’m shifting my focus off the addictive pattern of worrying and onto the positive habit of appreciation. The moment I redirect my focus, the worry dissolves.
