It’s a challenge that is very close to my heart because it encourages women to embrace who they are without any filters, whether it be on their photos or in the contents of their posts. The reality is that we too often hide who we really are on social media to make it seem like our life is 100% fun all the time. But it’s not. Our lives are not as glamorous as we show on our Instagram. We all have our struggles, we all have our good days and bad days. We too often show the best versions of ourselves, choose photos with our best profiles or our nicest smiles. But that’s not life. I too have had my fair share of struggles, I’ve had days when I didn’t want to get up, didn’t feel like smiling, wanted to quit. Those darker moments should be embraced because they are empowering you to be the real version of yourselves. I want to tell all the girls out there that it’s okay to have flaws and imperfections, it’s okay to feel down or like you’ve lost yourself. Perfection is not of this world. Today the challenge is to recognize Instagram for what it is. I would like to encourage all of the girls and women out there to post a photo of your life unfiltered.
