Some people ask me how am I able to be so happy for others when they’re my competitors? It’s simple. God’s favor doesn’t always have to be in my favor to be a beautiful thing. My studying the sport doesn’t just end on the track, I study my competitors and learn what they’ve been through and what may drive them. I know I can never take anything for granted because “I worked really hard for this, I deserve this” doesn’t guarantee a spot on a team let alone on the podium. When it’s my time, it is a time no one can take, and it will come as long as I am a faithful servant to God. I have so much respect for everyone who goes out there testing their limits through blind faith, hardships and disappointment on a daily.
