As I looked into the company, I couldn't believe that I'd never heard of them.  They sell hand-blown glass candle holders that are absolutely gorgeous (all handmade by four separate people!). Every product is named with a meaning behind it and has an uplifting message.  But what touched me the most is the fact that they give $3 of each sale to various charities. One of the main causes they support is cancer care--smaller charities that help with the "extras" people need during chemotherapy like childcare, transportation, or additional time off work. And they’re making a huge difference in the community; @glassybaby just hit the $10 MILLION dollar threshold in giving back to various charities (and the majority of their giving has been to cancer-related care, as that’s why the founder started this company). . During my drive home from the @glassybaby pop-up shop, I got a little choked up thinking about my own dad, who passed away from cancer five years ago.  I thought about the toll that cancer takes, not only on the one living through it but on the caregivers, the friends, and the family, who are also living through it.  So much goes into the fight against cancer and often times, it takes a major financial toll; not everyone can afford to miss work or pay for extra childcare while they're undergoing treatment.  But it makes my heart happy that charities exist that take care of the 'extras' (even though they seem like necessities to me) to help families know they aren't alone in this fight. . The @glassybaby Chicago pop-up is supporting these local charities: Culinary Care, Canine Therapy Corp, and Imerman Angels.  And if you're not local to Chicago, please check out @glassybaby's website to see their beautiful products and read more about their story (I foresee myself giving a lot of these!) #ad」9月19日 9時27分 - seeannajane
