The U.S. Women’s team has never won a gold medal in any event at the Pan American Championships and this year we finally won the Women’s Team event!!! Super proud of this team for giving it their all and pulling through in the end 😍 I was also fortunate enough to win Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles with @wuyuetabletennis, and Mixed Doubles with @zhangkai1997622! 🥇🥇🥇🥇 • To be quite honest, this year has been somewhat difficult for me. After going pro and dedicating all of my time to table tennis, I wanted to make big strides in the sport, but I felt like I fell short of my expectations almost every time. My contingency of self-worth became based solely on results and I lost a lot of confidence in my game and in myself. It’s disheartening to feel stagnant, especially in something that you’ve put so much time and energy into, but I’ve learned that results do not come immediately. Hard work, time, and patience pays off in the end. I still have a long ways to go, but I’m working on staying in the present moment and appreciating the process a lot more.
