INTRODUCING: Yoga Girl® Foundation❤️⁣

Many of you were here to read about the devastating story that unfolded in Aruba in November of 2017. Two young boys, aged 3 and 5, lost their lives at the hands of their parents in the most gut wrenching way. Up until then my service work on the island had been focused on animals through our work with @sgtpeppersfriends but learning about little Rishandroh and Eugene opened my eyes to a whole new reality. It is estimated that 3 out of 5 children in Aruba suffer from physical or sexual abuse and up until now, there has been little or no resources to make a change. Together with my mom I founded @yogagirlfoundation with the mission to keep every child free from harm and it’s taken us two years to get the governmental support needed to launch this project. Finally - we made it. ⁣

I am so, so proud to launch this foundation and with it, out first project: a Family Justice Center to help care for the children that have already suffered and a one-stop safe space to avoid re-traumatization and fight for the justice these children often never see. ⁣
⁣
This is for Rishandroh and Eugene - may their young souls rest in peace. This is for the three children aged 2, 3 and 6 just brought into the ER within days from each other, each suffering injuries too devastating to speak out loud. This is for every child that has ever felt unsafe - and for every adult that suffers the consequences of childhood trauma to this day.⁣
