Last night, I read this thread on Twitter that brought me to tears, so now I need you all to cry with me. It was started by Mikel Jollet who was feeling weepy about sending his first kid to preschool. (I have been there.) And then the responses were mainly from parents who have adult children or just sent their kids away to college. Swipe left 😭😭😭 As someone in the middle, who can still see the beginning, but is also starting to understand just how quickly I will get to the end, these quotes hit me hard. Parenting is learning how to embrace each new phase while mourning the loss of the last. Joy and sadness simultaneously.
