The Duke of Gloucester visited Tyne and Wear yesterday where he carried out a number of engagements. Swipe ➡️ to see images from the day which included:
🤝 Meeting volunteers from @stjohn_ambulance at their Newcastle Headquarters. The Duke heard more about the training of first-aid volunteers, in particular their provision for mental health first-aid training.
🌳 Planting a European Elm Tree in Jubilee Wood, which was dedicated to the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy (QCC) project. The @queenscanopy was launched in 2015 and aims to raise awareness within the Commonwealth of the value of indigenous forests, saving them for future generations.
👏 Awarding local business Gate 7 with The Queens Award for Enterprise. The Awards are for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in areas such as innovation and international trade.
