In celebration of the Prince’s life and work, here are some facts you may not know about him: 🏛 Victoria and Albert were the first Royal Couple to use Buckingham Palace as their home. 💍 Tradition dictated that the reigning monarch could not be proposed to… So Queen Victoria proposed to Albert! 🤝 Victoria and Albert began the familiar practice of Royal visits, meeting members of the public and learning about their work in places like factories and hospitals. 👶 Victoria and Albert had nine children. 🎨 The South Kensington Museum, now @vamuseum, was born out of the Great Exhibition, Prince Albert’s brain-child of 1851. 🖼 The Prince was a talented amateur artist and designer. To this day, there are over 500 works created, designed or compiled by the Prince in the @royalcollectiontrust.
