Someone sent me a DM when I posted this in the Stories and she told me, “I’ve literally yelled ‘YOU’VE GOT THIS’ to mothers across the store before!”

And it made me think. What if we all said those kinds of supportive things out loud to other parents in public INSTEAD of giving them what WE think are knowing nods and smiles?! What if we said, “YOU’RE DOING GREAT, MOM!” Or “WAY TO GO, DAD!” when we see a kid throw a fit for not getting the toy or candy or whatever? OR when a kid is being awesome in the store? And everything in between?!

I don’t know. It just struck me as something I want to try. Not telling the kid to listen to their mom. Not saying it gets easier or the time goes fast or anything like that.

But an honest CHEER for the parent.

What are some other things we can say OUT LOUD to show support for parents? I’m feeling a movement coming on.
