Home renovations: have you ever done them? Before we moved into #thisoldtudor, I was like, “omg this will be so fun—we’ll be done in a year!” Famous.last.words. Home renovations are actually pretty stressful, expensive, and last much longer than you’d expect. But would I do them again if given the chance? Absolutely.
We’re currently in a holding pattern waiting to re-do our basement (file this one under: unexpected renovations that I had no intention of doing this year) and the kids’ shared bathroom. We are supposed to start work in September but our basement has been out of commission since July...we miss it big time.
Also, I have so much respect for people who take on the work themselves. I’d love to expand my skills beyond painting (TBD if I’m even good at that) and learn how to do SOMETHING handy like tile a floor but then I think about all the pictures I haven’t even hung and I decide I’d better focus on that first 😬 #homerenovation #thisoldhouse #housebeautiful 📸 @ironandhoney
