Back in like 1996, yes before a lot of y’all were born, Disney channel used to do concerts with up and coming artists. The only one I ever watched was LeAnn Rimes. I don’t know why I even watched it, I suppose i was just patiently waiting for Zenon to premiere four years later. But there I was in the living room watching LeAnn Rimes perform at Disney World in a brown crushed velvet pant suit, Hilary Clinton style. At the age of six I was already a seasoned country music fan, but this concert was different. LeAnn was just a kid. I was absolutely enamored. I wanted her posters on my bedroom door. I wanted to be a member of her fan club. I wanted all her cassette tapes. I wanted to be a singer just like her. Even at six the idea of getting to perform and touch people and change lives through music inspired me, and I wanted it to be my life’s work. I set out to learn all the steps, which I’m not sure how I figured out in a pre internet world. But I took out my cassette recorder, recorded a tape of me singing something, and with my pink gel pen sent it off to Nashville with “Curb Records Nashville” written on it. I found stamps in the kitchen added a whole bunch and sent it off to Nashville. A few months later it returned back to me, but had the proper address added to it Incase I wanted to resend. I still haven’t had the nerve to do so. It’s in an barn or garage somewhere. I also can’t carry a note in a bucket. I’m glad @taylorswift was equally as inspired by women like @leannrimes and the @dixie_chicks and actually made it all the way to Nashville.」8月26日 10時06分
