Here is the jungle of The Crown, where it hides amid the legal foliage of ambiguous terminologies & references toward that which exists, as a literal Crowned Monarch not existing as the authority but as the personification of a hidden State & its agenda. Again I ask, Maori should ask, any peoples labelled as "aboriginal" "native" or "indigenous" by The Crown should ask, "Who is The Crown?" #protectihumātao @panianewton

Manu, I understand that you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of constitutional law. However, I don’t think a focus on the body of “The Crown” will necessarily help. Yes, constitutionally, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth have a monarch but in the day to day running we are all part of our own representative democracies.
There has never been a true democracy where all people vote on all matters. Even the Athenians defined those who could vote as Athenian male landowners over a certain age. Representative democracy has many flaws, including it’s tendency to preserve the status quo and frustrate the efforts of colonised people who never originally fell into the British Empire’s definition of “citizen”. I wholeheartedly support your efforts to force the NZ government to recognise Maori sacred sites, but I think directing your attention to those who are practically in control of this decision would be more fruitful.
Thank you for your work both on and off screen and for using your influence to stand up for your people.

@manubennett I agree with you entirely that the Crown can and should be questioned when appropriate.
I’m not an expert in NZ law, just a guy who likes your work who has a law degree in the UK. If you believe that NZ needs to be separated from the UK government in order to protect sacred land, then I would support that too. I’m just not sure that joining the two issues of separation from the Commonwealth and persuading the NZ government is the best way to go about it.
Again, I have nothing but praise for you and all you work, and truly do hope that you can win this fight.

What it’s saying is that there’s two levels, the highest which is a monarch. Then within that monarch, is ‘The Crown’. Where it says “there can’t be an office w/o an office holder”, it refers to the The Queen (office holder), the Crown (office).
Where it mentions Jurisdiction it’s talking about the countries that are under the sovereign of the Queen i.e. The Common Wealth— NZ still chooses its own Governing System tho hence being Democratic.
But it’s the members of the Common Wealth who make up and represent “The Crown”. 💙

I find it strange that the term "the crown" is so prevalent in your political system. It seems like a clever trick played by your politicians to deflect blame towards an elderly figurehead. Here in the UK we know where are problems stem from, the overpaid self interested arseholes that sit in parliament and the dickhead occupying downing Street at the time. Look at who's to gain from the current situation and follow the money. You'll probably find a few local politicians and buisness leaders all circle jerking eachother.

Also I must debate your reference "I don't think a focus on the body of The Crown will... help... In day to day running, we are all part of our own representative democracies. Ill liken that statement to another system. If by virtue of Christianity, God was not to be questioned why the represtation of Jesus does not allow for equality of races, then who do we question, the priest, ourselves, our skin color or this proposed God, asking him if he is real or otherwise being misrepresented as a God of all peoples?

They have controlling right of the Commonwealth. What would happen if the Commonwealth was dismantled and each country given back their right to govern their own country. What would happen ? Would each nation be able to stand alone without the aide of the Crown? Would Maori stand equally and do right by the people of Aotearoa ?
Are they helping their people today fairly and equally? What is happening to the Maori of New Zealand?
